Stuck In My Skull 362 — “Bad Wings”

by Christopher

Song: “Bad Wings” || Artist: The Glitch Mob || http://youtu.be/r6AN1-CTUXM ||

Comments: Continuing on the theme of ‘Things I Got Over The Holidays,’ The Glitch Mob! I have long expressed my affection for this insane trio of musicians, but this song takes it to blistering new heights. I had it stuck in my head the other day, and I swear it was so loud! I felt this song in my soul. The crisp kick drum in my ears, the thrum of the bass deep in my chest, the ethereal voice and the piano melody dancing about my soul, everything. I didn’t hear this song, I felt this song. I lived this song. This song reminds me why music is so beautiful. Enjoy!

Comments: Things I feel bad about as a blogger right now:

  • Overusing electronica as a genre
  • Overusing The Glitch Mob as a band
  • Not posting yesterday
  • Not posting anything new and unique today

Don’t get me wrong. I love Glitch Mob. Those gentlemen know how to make a beat. And I love electronic music. But I’ve put too much up lately, and too much Glitch Mob. So it is with this in mind that I beg you to go and listen to the song anyway, because it is fantastic. Enjoy!

Stuck In My Skull 329 — “Warrior Concerto”

Comments: Happy Friday! I’ll be straight and to the point. This song is some seriously fantastic techno with a heavy dose of strings. It’s excellent, and it (and everything this band does) reminds me why I got into electronic music in the first place. Check it out. Also, go to the youtube for this one– there’s a free (and even legal!) download link. Enjoy the weekend!

Stuck In My Skull 313– “Fortune Days”

by Christopher

Comments: Awhile back, I used another song by this group– “We Can Make The World Stop.” I have to say, the more I listen to The Glitch Mob, the more I am falling in love with them.  TGM has all of the bass I want without sounding distorted (a curiously uncommon trait), and has some ridiculously catchy hooks and beats. In short, TGM is exactly what I want out of my electronic music.

As for today’s video, there is no official video for this song, so rather than album art, I saw that someone had posted a video of themselves playing (possibly highscoring on) Audiosurf to this song, and decided it was better than a single image. Enjoy!

Entry 296– "We Can Make the World Stop"

by Christopher

Song: “We Can Make the World Stop” || Artist: The Glitch Mob || http://youtu.be/ls-LYas5j8U ||

Comments: I wasn’t originally looking for this song, but when I couldn’t remember the name of The Glitch Mob’s song that I was looking for, I clicked the video and promptly fell in love with the tune. The Glitch Mob is an interesting sound, representing a sub-genre of electronica (appropriately, “glitch”) that hasn’t worked its way into the mainstream of electronic music yet, let alone mainstream pop. Oddly enough, it reminds me most heavily of the soundtrack and sound effects in the web game “Give Up Robot” produced by Adult Swim Games (heads up– trippy lights and sound, bordering on epileptic, and a huge black hole of time and productivity). Either way, the group (what I’ve heard of them) and the song are both excellent. Enjoy!
Edit: Sorry this didn’t go up on schedule– either I derped or Blogger derped, and I’m not sure which.
